This wasn’t about adding another AI feature.

It was about rethinking how AI fits into everyday life.

People spend over 6 hours a day on their phones.
For billions, it’s the most personal piece of technology they own. But AI on phones often feels scattered.
Too many features. Too many buttons. Not enough meaning. So we asked a simple question:

What if AI could quietly give time back to people — instead of asking for more attention?

TCL AI is not a standalone feature. It is a system-level AI experience framework integrated across smartphones, TV and tablets.

It helps people write, read, create, remember, and organize — without needing to think about where to go or what to open.

Less switching.

Less friction.

More flow.

Our opportunity lies in combining scenario depth, ecosystem integration, and a scalable AI approach anchored by a strong AI brand.

Frequented Scenarios

Scenario 1 - Everyday Use
Capture → Understand → Create → Express.

Across key scenarios, we saw daily tasks completed faster and with less friction — translating to an estimated 35% time saved in everyday workflows.

Scenario 2  - AI Travel Diary

A Selling Point of A Nxtpaper Mobile Phone

Competitor Analysis

Summary: Apple does the best in automatically organising and generating memory videos, and can view maps but users cannot add text; in terms of travel tracks, apps such as Inspiration Footprints and Footprint Maps can view tracks, but cannot combine pictures, text, and video content to create and share works; in terms of content, Xinguang can generate sharing templates, but cannot read pictures to help write.

Questionnaire Analysis - 51 Samples

According to the survey data statistics, the top 3 most expected functions of users are:

- Travel memories/report
- Automatic help with content
- Automatic organize photos and generate vlogs

59% of users will record through photos/videos/text, etc., and share on social platforms

29% of users will only record through video/photo/text, etc., and will not share

With Google — AI That Enriches Everyday Living

Together, we brought AI into home scenarios — artistic creation, meditation, intelligent home control, audio-visual enhancement.

With Bang & Olufsen — AI That Fades into the Background

With B&O, AI doesn’t try to be seen.
It quietly adapts sound scenarios, filters noise, and enhances voice — so the technology fades away and the experience takes over.

Supporting Work

In-Vehicle Multi-Screen Interaction

Designed a lightweight multi-screen interface for in-vehicle scenarios, focusing on information hierarchy and cross-screen continuity.

Impact

The result reached 3M+ users across 30+ countries, achieved an 87% activation rate in the first month, saved users an estimated 35% of daily task time, and was selected for the iF Design Award. The work was showcased globally at CES and IFA 2025, in collaboration with Google Gemini and Bang & Olufsen.

Reflection

This project strengthened my ability to:
Translate abstract AI capability into usable experience;
Design at system level instead of feature level;
Balance technical constraints with emotional storytelling;
Collaborate across global partners;
TCL AI was not just about adding intelligence —
 it was about designing a calmer relationship between humans and technology.
